چکیده
The adsorption configurations of N-methylpyrrole on Si(111)-737 were investigated using high-resolution electron energy-loss spectroscopy, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy ~XPS!, scanning tunneling microscopy ~STM!, and density function theory calculations. Compared to physisorbed N-methylpyrrole, chemisorbed molecules present a different vibrational feature at 2886 cm attributable to n@(Si)C-H# in addition to the vibrational features of (sp)C-H ~3106 cm!, (sp)C-H ~3050 cm!, and CuH of CH3 ~2944 cm ! stretching modes, demonstrating the direct interaction between CvC bonds and Si(111)-737. The major change of N 1s XPS spectrum of N-methylpyrrole upon chemisorption strongly suggests the coexistence of two chemisorption states, further confirmed in the strong dependence of STM image features on the sample bias together with statistical analysis. The concurrent occurrence of @412# and @212# cycloadditions is proposed to account for these two adsorption configurations of N-methylpyrrole on Si(111)-737.

Tetra-s attachment of allyl cyanide on Si„111...-7Ã7
The investigation of allyl cyanide adsorption on Si(111)-737 using high-resolution electron-energy-loss spectroscopy ~HREELS!, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy ~XPS!, and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy ~UPS! reveals a tetra-s binding mode through two @212#-like cycloaddition reactions. The HREELS spectra of chemisorbed monolayer show the absence of CvC, CwN, and C(sp)uH stretching modes...

We studied the dynamics of a semi-infinite Si~111!-737 system, using the force-constant matrix obtained from the total-energy calculation based on a nonorthogonal tight-binding Hamiltonian. We modeled the semiinfinite system by merging the optimized surface slab seamlessly onto the bulk to underscore the importance of the system size in obtaining all the relevant surface phonon modes of Si~111!...

In this paper the electrodeposition of nickel on n-Si(111):H substrate, in the presence of sulphuric acid, was studied. Cyclic voltammetry has been used to characterize the electrochemical behavior of the system. The nickel deposits had a flower-like morphology with the sphericalnanostructure nucleus, distributed uniformly on the surfaces of the prepared n-Si(111) substrate.
متن کاملBehavior of Electrodeposited Cd and Pb Schottky Junctions on CH3-Terminated n-Si(111) Surfaces
n-Si/Cd and n-Si/Pb Schottky junctions have been prepared by electrodeposition of Cd or Pb from acidic aqueous solutions onto H-terminated and CH3-terminated n-type Si 111 surfaces. For both nondegenerately nand degenerately n+doped H–Si 111 electrodes, Cd and Pb were readily electroplated and oxidatively stripped, consistent with a small barrier height b at the Si/solution and the Si/metal jun...

Hydrogen-terminated, chlorine-terminated, and alkyl-terminated crystalline Si(111) surfaces have been characterized using high-resolution, soft X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy from a synchrotron radiation source. The H-terminated Si(111) surface displayed a Si 2p(3/2) peak at a binding energy 0.15 eV higher than the bulk Si 2p(3/2) peak. The integrated area of this shifted peak corresponded to...
